One Sentence
The firm’s position in one sentence: who it is for, what it does for them, and what it says first, written so that a person can repeat it and a machine can quote it.
The one sentence is the end of a position’s work and the start of everything built on it. It sits on the first screen, in the structured data and in the first line every profile shows. Under it sits its proof: a fact, a number and a name the firm can show.
Why It Matters
A sentence that needs the page around it to make sense cannot be lifted by an answer, and a firm that says something different on each page reads as several small firms. One sentence, repeated everywhere, gives people and machines the same fact.
How the Studio Uses It
It is set in the Position session, from the field and the buyers’ own words, with the words to use and the words to avoid. It then decides the first screen of every page and the description in the structured data. The paper Presence Is a Structure explains why the words written once must sit in all three places.
Asked About
One Sentence.
Is it a tagline?
No. A tagline can be clever; the one sentence must be plain and true, so it can be repeated and quoted.
Can it change?
Yes, when the market changes. It is a decision people make, never a rule a system keeps.
