Semantic Entanglement Optimisation
Search engine optimisation redefined for engines that read meaning: the work on the relations that a site’s pages, and the sites under one name, hold with their neighbours in meaning, since each is placed and judged by what it is entangled with.
The three letters of SEO stay, and what they stand for changes. Search engine optimisation worked on a page and its words. Engines that read meaning place each page among its neighbours, and its standing depends on the subjects around it, on the other sites under the same name, and on the links and terms that bind them. Semantic entanglement optimisation (in US spelling, optimization) is the work on those relations. The word comes from physics, where two particles that have interacted behave as one system however far apart they are. Related pages and sites behave the same way: what happens to one shows in the other, and the relation is seen most clearly on the day one side changes.
Where the Term Comes From
Noo–Studio coined the term on 10 October 2026. That day no earlier use of the exact phrase, in either spelling, was found on the web, in Google’s search suggestions, or in the arXiv, Zenodo and OpenAlex indexes of research. It keeps the letters SEO and gives them a new meaning; semantic search engine optimisation, said plainly, describes the practice in general and is not this term.
It is the widest of three terms the studio uses as one set: semantic token optimisation for the words, the semantic authority mesh for the structure they build, and semantic entanglement optimisation for the field. The semantic gravity gradient, coined on 12 October 2026, is the slope all three measure, and this term measures it at the size of everything under one name. The paper of the same name, in preparation, measures one main site and its satellite before and after the satellite was switched off, against predictions written before the switch.
Why It Matters
The relations work in both directions. On 30 May 2026 Google issued a manual action against the whole domain of the studio’s own reference network (Manual Action), while Bing and Copilot, reading the same network, kept sending readers and citing it. Google’s 2024 documentation keeps an encoded embedding of each site and an id “for defining clusters of sites”, used in its experiments (the documentation), and its spam policies name “creating multiple sites with the intent of hiding the scaled nature of the content” (Google Search Central).
Since then, Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode may fan one question out into “multiple related searches across subtopics and data sources” (Google Search Central), so a firm can be met through its neighbours as much as through its own pages. Sites under one name are read together, for better and for worse.
What It Is Not
Links are one kind of tie; shared terms, shared owners and shared subjects tie sites too, and the engines read all of them, so this is wider than link building. Parasite publishing places pages on another host for that host’s standing, and Google calls it site reputation abuse. Semantic entanglement optimisation works on relations a firm owns: its own sites, its own terms and its own records, each site useful on its own.
How the Studio Uses It
A System is entangled by design: the main site and its satellites share one engine, one set of terms and one owner, and each satellite answers a subject the main site does not. Before any change to one side, the studio records what each side draws and writes down what it expects, so that the change can be read against the prediction.
How to Check It on Your Own Site
- List every site that carries your name: the main site, the shop, the blog, subdomains, old domains. Which of them link to which?
- In Search Console, compare the searches each site appears for. Where do they overlap?
- Before you move, join or close any of them, write down what you expect to happen, with numbers. Then read the record.
Asked About
Semantic Entanglement Optimisation.
Is this the end of SEO?
The letters stay and the work moves, from the words on one page to the relations among pages and sites.
Is it the same as semantic SEO?
Semantic SEO usually means writing a page around entities and topics. This term takes that in and adds the ties between pages and between sites, which the engines read too.
When does the paper come?
When the measurement it describes is complete. This page will link to it.
